The Community Mapping Report
Community maps organize local information and present it in a visual format that is easily understandable. These maps can help identify areas of strength and areas of need in the community. They then stimulate discussion and bring people together to generate ideas and solutions.
Using Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software, maps are created to display the following information by different geographic areas of the community:
- Information in the Inventory of Community Programs and Services
- Local socioeconomic characteristics and
- The results of the Early Development Instrument data collection
This report will be rolled out in phases.
- A copy of the Community Mapping Progress Report is currently available on this website.
- Community Mapping Report A - This report will include data collected as the result of the Inventory of Community Programs and Services, The Community Program Survey, and Socioeconomic data collected from the Census Canada 2001 Data and local Social Index information. Data generated from EDI data collected from 2006/2007 and 2007/2008 is also included for all school division within the project with the exception of the First Nations Schools participating in the project.
Anticipated date of the publishing of this report is July 1, 2008.
- Community Mapping Report B - This report will include all data included throughout the project including the Inventory of Community Programs and Services, The Community Program Survey, Socioeconomic data collected from the Census Canada 2006 Data and Local Social Index information and local EDI data collected from 20082007 for all schools participating in the project.
Anticipated date of publishing of this report is October 2009 |
